Megabusive "My Own Life" (produced by DJ Traps)



Lately Megabusive has keeping himself busy doing his "365 Songs in 365 Days" project (recently ended, hope you downloaded it) but that was, as he said "all for fun." Now he is ready getting ready to release his new album "What's in a Name" with production by DJ Traps, Willie Green, Lou Cypher, Megabusive himself, and many more. maticulous "Mello Instros"

After releasing his debut ep, aptly called "the maticulous ep"(you can buy it here) he has decided to offer a quality beat tape and to make it that much nicer, is letting the world have it for free. Remind "I Think I'm an Alcoholic"




As I am sure you have noticed I am way behind on my reviews (sincere apologies) and do not want my writing struggles to affect the artists too much, so I figured why not at least put the album out there for you to check out before I give you my full review. The first of these I shall post is Remind's "I Think I'm An Alcoholic."
First, as I am sure you have figured out this is not a very cheerful album...but as well all know, lots of the best art comes from pain and life changing events, and that is just what you get with Remind of the mic and Swiffstarr on about everything else (another multi tasker in the world of indie hip hop.)
So here is what I am thinking...why not make this like a book club sort of idea, but instead music club, I will let you know some albums, I will review them, and please leave some feedback on those reviews and let us build some dialogue about the artists. So check out the album and enjoy.

Iron Lung "The Lonely Hearts Club (FL Chapter)"


I recently started to get into the music of LAMEBot (check out the bandcamp page here) and just as that happened, , Rene Gonzalez, re-released the first solo album under the name Iron Lung, and to make it even better, offered it for free. So I figured why not let my loyal readers know about both artists at once. But what exactly does "The Lonely Hearts Club (FL Chapter)" sound like? Well, in short, picture, electronica, spaced out, hip hop that rocks and sways. Does that make any sense? Well no matter, check out the album...you will not be disappointed.

Tranzformer ft Solar C. "Architecture"

Lately producer, Tranzformer has been very busy, recently releasing "Raw and Homemade Vol 1" and it seems just as begin to fully digest (yes I am behind I know) he is preparing to drop "Raw and Homemade Vol 2" so since I am so far behind on telling you that Vol 1 is dope and you should check it out I figure I will try and stay in front of the train that is Tranzformer's output and let you know know about the single "Architecture" featuring Solar C. Listen to it, you shall not be disappointed.

K-Murdock "M.P.C. Episode 1: Blue Oceanwave"

K-Murdock (of Panacea and Forever Famicom fame) decided to create a series where he shows how some of his fans' favorite beats were made. I, being a fan of his, thought why not post this and show some love and gain some knowledge at the same time. The first track he selected was "Blue Oceanwave" off of Panacea's album "12 Step Program," (oddly enough I was listening to this exact track yesterday.) Adam Warlock "Slugging Percentage" Video

A few weeks ago Adam Warlock released his debut project "Dark Weapons (From Mars)" (you can stream and download the album here.) all based on when he and his wife's apartment was broken into. As you can imagine they felt violated and unsafe, so Adam Warlock put these feelings (much more than I listed) into songs and one such song "Slugging Percentage" now has a video. A quick rundown of the track is that Warlock never felt safe after the robbery so he carried a baseball bat around with him at all times just in case the intruders returned. Check out the video and notice the raw emotion (met by the raw filming style) and realize you don't need to go big budget to make a video that makes a song hit home, and make the two work together and create a home run (yea...I went there.)
