King Ra ft DJ Hush "Pain" produced by DJ Priority
Ever feeling like beating down those who are rocking out to the new shitty hip hop hit? Well, that is exactly what King Ra does in his video for "Pain" which features DJ Hush and produced by DJ Priority. But the video, while entertaining isn't what sells this...it is the music, great pairing of production, scratching and MCing, working together for a great sound and Ra does his lyrical thing. Check it out

Maxx Julian & Sincere Vega "She Say"
Maxx Julian and Sincere Vega offer up another track from their forth coming album "sinAmaxx" this time Sincere Vega gives a first hand account on some of the pitfalls of love, but don't think this isn't a hard hitting beat with solid lyrics just because you see the word love, let them prove you wrong and take a listen.

Shade Cobain "Wake-Up (New Day)"
I keep meaning to do a post talking about Shade Cobain, an incredible producer from Pittsburgh so today seems like a great day to do it, since it is his birthday and him releasing a new beat on his soundcloud page entitled "Wake-Up (New Day)" take a listen check out it and enjoy. While you are there, listen to his other music on the soundcloud page and you might as well check out his bandcamp page where he has more than a few albums.

Blasphemous Jazz "Blasphemous Jazz: The Bitches Brew Sessions"
For those that do not know, I am a HUGE fan of Miles Davis, from his first recordings to his last. I fully realize that many people play and attempt to play or rework his music because of their love for it. But far too often the music sounds like a karaoke version of what Miles did and if that's the case, I would rather just listen to Miles instead. But occasionally people come along who do the music justice and continue to push the boundaries that Miles moved to where they are today.
This album is just that, Mndsgn, Swarvy, Sir Froderick, Knxwledge, Josh Hey, and Cold Seltzers each created their own interpretation of the classic "Bitches Brew" for a show on Thursday June 2, 2011 at The Little Bar in South Philadelphia; where they each did a live set that included these pieces of music, the event the host/MC of the event was Stainless Steele. This album is the studio version of what was performed that night. Take a listen and enjoy.

Black-Tokyo "Good Clean Filth Vol 2"
Not too long ago a posted a link for Black-Tokyo's "Good Clean Filth Vol 1" where he asked twitter followers for songs to flip, and he has done it again with Vol 2. Once again I offered up a song near and dear to my existence, the original theme song to "Doctor Who," and he did not dissapoint, in fact I have dubbed it my "theme song" because who doesn't want a theme song right? Check out the "Doctor Who" flip and check out the rest of the album as well and see how he handled songs by Bush, Bjork, King Crimson, and many others.

LAMEBOT "West Coast Robo-Zombie Mix"
Last month a noted I had recently gotten into LAMEBOT, little did I know that not too long after that there would be a live mix (which I am a big fan of) so let me present to you that live mix, entitled "West Coast Robo-Zombie Mix"
West Coast Robo-Zombie Mix by LAMEBOT_Music
This is a live mix inspired by LAMEBOT's two week stint DJing in the West coast. LAMEBOT wanted to bring back some of that glitchy, bassy, cali love and infuse it to a live set. A condensed version of this set was played live at The Electric Pickle in Miami FL

E Dot Spencer "Born To Fly"
People always like to have debates about best MC or producer and then there are the sub categories and one of the ones that always comes out is best MC who is a professional athlete. Well, I am here to say, we can put that final debate to rest VERY easily right here and right now. It is E Dot Spencer and let me add he is also now a Globetrotter, which by itself is pretty damn cool. But he isn't just a pro basketball player who raps well. No, ladies and gentleman he is a talented MC and producer whether or not he was a pro athlete. Further proof that we need to stop putting people into little boxes that they cannot get out of, E Dot Spencer is a quality MC and producer. End of discussion. But you probably would like some proof, well guess what, I can do that for you, he just happened to drop "Born to Fly" today (September 3, 2011) so go the link below and check for yourself.

M.anifest "Suffer" (video)
People often say that hip hop is a global community and global music, but when asked to name artists from overseas they struggle. This may lead some to believe that the idea is just a myth. Well let me introduce you to, M.anifest, an MC from Ghana, who later moved to Minneapolis. His debut album, "manfestive" came out in 2007 and received great praise, but sadly many do not know about him. Hopefully that will change when he releases his sophomore album "Immigrant Chronicles: Coming to America" on September 20th. Check out the video for the single off the album, "Suffer" with production by Budo.
